Do you call movement junk? She came in the game with a runner on 1st and a 1 run lead. She got the 1st McDowell batter to hit into a double play and was never in trouble after that. I sit behind the plate and watched her pitches. She got several McDowell girls to strike out with a rising fastball that looked like a crisp 55 mph right down the middle but ended up at the shoulders as it crossed the plate. McDowell put in a new pitcher in the 5th that threw hard but the ball didn't have much movement and East Burke hit her. She ended up with the loss. I guess she could have used a little JUNK herself. The lady Titans are a pretty good team. I believe Alexander needed extra innings to beat them at Alexander. They will rebound from this loss and East Burke may surprise a few more teams before this season is over. As for Holly,I bet by the time she gets to her junior and senior years and adds a few MPH's to her junk she will be hard to hit.

Good game from both teams, wish base umpire watched the same game, 3 runners called out for leaving the base early. Hasn't been called all year, ex-baseball umpire that just likes to be seen... Most poor calls went against Hopewell though so we can't complain too much.

everyone starts hitting ER Red after a few innings. mixing it on the mound would help ERHS playoff chances. they're too deep with quality pitching to sink in One inning! just saying..............

 

Against SCHS I saw some curveballs and a nasty little change up. She has a few years to improve.

 

Did I misread something? I thought the starting pitcher had a shutout after 5 innings. Sounds like the starter had a quality game to me.

 

She did through 5. Went a 1/3 in the 6th gave up a couple of hits which scored a run and gave a couple of walks. Left with runners on 1st and 3rd. Relief gave up a long ball that scored both. Last time these 2 teams played they were up 6 to 2 going in the 7th. Ended up losing 7 to 6 in ll innings. Get to play one more time. They have seen each other alot.

ER/RSC girls play against each other from 8U and up.....they know.
