base runner

    base runner on second base single to the outfield runner goes out of his way to shove the shortstop. Ump throws runner out of the gamebut allows a substitute runner, should the runner also have been called out?

    Only if the runner interfered with the play on the ball.

    Agreed.

    When a runner plows into a obstructing catcher (i.e. without the ball), you can throw the runner out of the game, but the run still scores.
