    Answer for question #1:

Try to pick a school that your player is interested in and can fit into both athleticly and academicly. If money is a problem try to pick a camp that is as local as possible. (save on over night expenses) With the change in the NCAA recruiting rules these camps may become a much more popular recruiting tool for most schools.

    Answer for question #2:

I think coaches are well aware that most players are at least a couple of weeks out of their regular fall schedules. I doubt that they honestly expect player to be at their peak potental. Add to that, at the time of most winter camps (December, January) it tends to be a little cold for baseball. College coaches and pro scouts look for over all tools in these cases. Just remember, it takes one to know one. :D:D

    Good luck.

    RCBBFAN makes a great point.
Maybe the DI schools voted for a quiet period regarding showcases to have less competition for their own "camps/showcases".
Makes perfect sense for schools to do their evaluating in-house rather than hitting the road.
Making money instead of spending it !!!
Look for less instruction and more evaluation at your next winter camp.

If the college that your particular player is interested in is not having a fall camp or has already had their fall college camp, I would recommend the Pfeiffer University Showcase Camp on 11/22-23 which is an overflow from last weekend's 11/15-16 camp. It is low key but with good exposure to many of the DII and DII colleges, if the same colleges attend this coming weekend as did last weekend.

If you are local to Charlotte, it is an easy 1 hr. 10 minute drive at the most up to Pfeiffer and for $75 you get a fantastic deal of 2 days of good position instructional sessions, lunch for the player in the Pfeiffer cafeteria on Saturday, and multi-college coverage.

Pfeiffer University Showcase– 11/22-23 @ [email protected] or call Head Coach Chris Pollard @ 704-463-1360 Ext. #2426.
