All three FSU runs were unearned. The Heels scored in the ninth to send the game to extras, and Florida State's winning run came on a throwing error by first baseman Matt Spencer, his second of the game. Tough loss as a Tar Heel fan/student, but I think fielding has been our weakest point all year, and maybe it's fitting.

The Heels play again at 1pm tomorrow (Thursday).

I think I saw one statistic where the Heels ranked high in Offense and Pitching but were 154 in D1 in defense due to the number of errors made.

I made it to probably 20 games this year, and that stat wouldn't surprise me a bit. I think Greg Mangum was the only infielder with any sort of consistance.

Matt Hill proves the # 8 is still great; going 2-3 with a run and a ribeye. Go ahead Matty and take out Furman today. Two of the ministers I work with will be upset, but they'll get over it.:agreed:

Who would have guessed that Clemson and Miami would be squaring off today in the loser's bracket?

Clemson ELIMINATES Miami from the ACC Tourney on a 9-1 pounding. Everyone is confident that Miami will still make the dance.

    SOCON Tourney
College of Charleston ended the year for UNC-G with an 8-2 win...

    Big South Tourney
Liberty upset Birmingham Southern yesterday, but Coastal Carolina and Winthrop held form. Today's early action has VMI leading Radford in the 6th

    Colonial Tourney
The top seeds held form yesterday with UNC-W, Virginia Commonwealth and George Mason all winning .... this morning's action involves an elimination game between Delaware and Hofstra

    Notes:
The Socon is projected to get 2 (probable) or 3 (highly improbable) berths in the dance. UNC-G ended up 5th this season. They will have to plan on making the dance next year ... they are completely capable of it!!!!! Good team and some great players.

The Colonial will probably get one team (UNC-W) unless someone else can "sneak" in the back door by upsetting them in the conf tourney. UNC-W would still receive an at-large bid (probably).

    Next games on the docket:
    North Carolina/Wake Forest
    Elon/Furman
