    Dear Friends in Baseball,

I am looking for some networking help from you today. A friend of mine has recieved requests from Europe for baseball players to play on high
level teams in France, Germany, and Austria. These programs are high
profile teams within their respected countries that are very competitive.

    This is the deal:

    Pay $500.00 per month
    Free Room and Board
    Flight over and back
    35-50 games per season
    Start middle of March
EURO passport are preferred if eligible

Needs pitchers, catchers, and middle infielders who have played in high
level college competition as minimum requirements with professional minor
    league experience preferred.

The lay of the land is this, pitcher's who are in the mid 80s with good
command and who have pitched in A AA or independent ball have a golden
opportunity. Catcher's who can hit and throw with collegiate experience and who can coach a youth team during the week, shortstops who have at least AA experience and can hit left handed. All should be prepared to play on the first level team and help develop the youth.

Most European Baseball programs speak good English so language is not an issue. Especially with these teams.

These athletes also must have great respect for the game, respect for
individuals of different cultures, must be single, financial stable, and
full of enthusiasm. Americans are expected to play at a higher level, be
humble in the process, and command confidence to encourage and develop those around them.

Please let me know if you have anyone interested and I will put you touch my friend.

Here is a few websites to pass on to interested parties for their review:

    For the German Team www.dortmund-wanderers.de

I can read French and German....Egyptian, too.

The problem is with the $500, and it's paid in american dollars....that's really a kick in the shin.

EDIT- I always knew the germans were tough people, but when the 1st word posted in a baseball website is "Die"...well, what can I say, they're tough people

Mine was the French. I had the problem with the boutique. Who knows what the fashion world holds. Might have to model before games.

I had a good friend play in Germany after being released by the Royals. Said it was one of the worst experiences of his life. His quote on the level of play, "it was worse than a bad adult league around here". I know nothing about adult leagues, so I'm not knocking them, that was his quote. That had him running camps all day and playing games at night. Worked hard for his $500. I would suggest really looking into this before you take off!!

I had the chance to play a "tournament" in Germany for 10 days while in college. Baseball was terrible there, but they flew some teams in from other places and we played a team from the UK in the "finals". We were a below average NAIA school at that time and we were "studs" there!! :talker:

That's been 15 years ago, so it's likely that it may be different.

Could be a lot of fun though, traveling, sightseeing, making memories, etc., but the baseball will probably be a letdown. But hey....not everyone can say they got "paid to play"!!
