I don't know too much about the baseball programs around the Greensboro area. Does anyone have any insight about them and who is expected to be solid this year?

Lots of good coaches and good programs. I'll name a few programs but keep inmmind for every program I mention you will find people that may not feel as strongly as I do.

My sons are at Ragsdale. They have 4 knowledgable, hard working coaches. All played in college and 2 in the pros. Great hitting instructor and 2 guys good with pitchers and 1 with fielders.

Southwest Guilford has Reid Holmes. Always has competitive teams. Both he and Ragsdale are fed by good youth programs and demographics conducive to baseball.

Kernersville Glenn always has a good team and I hear they have a good coach. I don't know him. Also have a good feeder program.

A very good private school is Wesleyan. Excellent coach and a great assistant coach. Great college connections and great teachers.

Dudley coach has worked hard in building his program. Also has a good feeder program.

I like the Grimsley coaching situation a lot but not everyone would agree with me. That's a tough parent group and they had a very successful coach that left and he is/was tough to follow. I would let my kids play for them in a heartbeat if we lived there. My oldest did play for one of them when he was at Ragsdale and my son loves the guy, and he likes the other two as well.

Northwest Guilford is always good but I do not know their coach well but hear good things. They alos have a good feeder program. many are trained by Scott Bankhead at NCBA.

Southeast Guilford is strong from time to time. They have a new coach and I do not know anything about him.

There are other good situations but I cannot add anything. Maybe others can. I guess it depends on where you live and what district you are in. Some people pick a school for academics, some for sports. I'll not get in to that topic. Good luck.

I'd say without a doubt the premiere program in the Triad from year to year is Ragsdale and again this year they will be solid with OF DeSean Anderson returning. He's already signed with South Carolina. Only question with them (someone correct me if I'm wrong) will be their pitching. They lost Nick McBride who was drafted in the 5th round by the Texas Rangers and Bennett Hixson who transferred to High Point Wesleyan

DeSean is talented, no doubt. We also have Ben Fultz who signed with ECU and a few others. Pitching is definitely a question mark. Over the past few years Ragsdale has been pretty good but we have not done what we hoped in the post season. Some young kids will need to help out this year. The coming couple of years hold some question marks for Ragsdale.
