Baseball loses a great ambassador

    Baseball suffered a great loss in the Carolinas this weekend with the passing of David Henderson. David lived in Rutherfordton and was associated with many teams around the state including the Statesville Owls of the SCBL, and a huge supporter of RS Central high school baseball. Our sympathy goes out to Lynn, Lauren and William. You will be missed.

    RUTHERFORDTON - David Lawrence Henderson, 59, of Rutherfordton, died Friday, Feb. 24, 2012, at his home.
    Visitation: The family will receive friends Monday two hours prior to the funeral service in the Fellowship Center of the church.
    Funeral Service: Monday at 3 p.m. at Mount Vernon Baptist Church
    Officiated By: Dr. Scott Courtney and Dr. Jim Whitlow
    Interment: Following the service in the church cemetery
