Isn't Brick the AD and baseball coach at Charlotte Latin?

Also, don't forget about Scooter Smith and Everette Graham. I know Scooter played with Brick and I think Everette played in the early 80's. But I'm pretty sure both of those guys either played in college and/or played in the minors.

I hope you guys got permission from the the Army Corp of Engineers before turning this thread so completely away from it's original course. LOL. Why don't yall get together and borrow Uncle Rico's time machine, just so you don't miss any important details from the mid-70's baseball scene in Charlotte.

    Don't forget the late 60's too.

Now, if anyone remembers the old Gastonia teams from the late 40's - early 50's ?????????? The teams that won 6 straight state championships and 8 out of 9 years????

We'd need Mr. Peabody's "Way-Back" machine for those teams.

Played against some great Garinger teams from 1975 to 1977 when I was at Hunter Huss. Garinger was the class of the state in 1977, when both of the Smith boys played. Unfortunately, Garinger was declared ineligable for the state tournament in 1977 due to an ineligable player. Thank goodness, as Huss would have had to face Garinger, and most likely Huss would not have advanced to the state championship that year. The Garinger boys could play the game in those years.
