    One potential playoff showdown would be a rematch of the 2004 Little League state championship between Patton and Tuscola, which gave Morganton all they could handle in a best of three. Morganton then reached the U.S. semi-finals in Williamsport.

    Would love to see an East Rowan-Aycock matchup, which is possible in the playoffs. No. 9 and No. 10 play each other Wednesday, according to high school huddle at www.citizen-times.com/hshuddle

    A high school baseball poll is a poll in name only. It is more of an opinion. A ranking based on the opinion of a few people who don't possess a thorough knowledge of all of the teams they are judging. A high school baseball poll will never satisfy, but it is good for sparking discussion.
