I bought a Carolina Panthers Jacket at Dicks about a month ago. It was on sale ($99) so I said what the heck and I bought it. Its heavy weight and will be good to wear to Panthers games next year. If Mr Richardson sees this thread, he may give me the money to burn it.

Providence High is 10-2 and 4-0 in the SW4A so far this season. The team has been knocking the cover off the ball on offense. I have worn this jacket to two games this year due to cold, inclement weather. The first time was to the North Meck game. After averaging 11 runs a game in their first four games, we LOST to North Meck 3-0 when Zack Rosenbaum held us to 2 hits. I wore it again last night to the Kannapolis Classic Tourney Championship v NW Cabarrus. Robby Gurley held us to 4-hits in a 6-1 Defeat.

I think it is time to BURN the JACKET!! If not, I promise the PHS Team that no matter how cold it gets, the Jacket will NEVER AGAIN be worn to one of their games.

My sincerest apologies to the Team. GO PANTHERS!!

When junior is pitching, I wander around the field until I find the "lucky spot" to stand for that day ....

When the team is at bat, I can visit, buy more sun flower seeds, whatever, but I have to be back in that "lucky spot" before the next inning starts.

If there isn't a "lucky spot", that means it's a "pacing day" and I wear a trench out going back/forth.

    --------------------------
The best I've ever seen at this is Steve Buchanan (his son, Ben is pitching at UNC-Asheville now). That guy wore a 4' deep trench at East Meck the last couple seasons.

    --------------------------
Whatever hat is "on top" of the pile in the closet must be worn. I can't dig down and pick up a favorite or a "team hat". I'm not the only one for this it appears. I've seen Kevin Richardson (His son Brett is an outstanding senior outfielder at Hopewell who is tearing the cover off the ball this year) wearing his lucky "North Meck" hat.

    -----------------------------
Clayton Woodard (Robert Woodard's dad, UNC) had to find a place down the right field line to stand when Myers Park played. I thought for years it was superstitions, but it may have been because he's "vertically challenged". Love ya Prep ....

I've always found that where I stand or sit has always had a dramatic impact on the game.

If your son pitches---that's the worst. I used to pace that 4' trench for years. Then, I tried standing far away from the action in the outfield. Now, I've found that getting very close to the action and keeping very still, standing or sitting, does the trick (this may be attributed to my blood pressure medication).

I once wore the same underwear to every game for about two weeks (don't wash them! You'll lose the good karma!) Thank goodness the team finally lost as this practice was getting very unhealthy. :bananalam :ufo: :ufo: :clown7: :clown7: :lach: :lach:

Hahaha..GBacks, I know exactly what is wrong with your jacket. Same thing happened last year to the Panthers'. Last year my wife had to do some sewing work on your uniforms for Coach Hignight...not good, considering what team she supports. Then your Panther's jacket you bought from Dick's?...well, you probably bought it from my son, who works there on the weekends...you are cursed:D:D:D
