My dd, a power hitter, currently swings a 32" Anderson Rocket-Tech. She wants to step up to a 33" bat.
Since she already has access to the 32" Rocket-Tech, my thinking is to purchase a 33" Toledo bat.
We have heard that the Toledo is actually a little hotter than the Rocket-Tech.
After looking online, my dd is a little afraid of the Toledo "Jade" 33/25. She wonders about getting that one around. The Toledo "Dragonfly" 33/22 is more to her liking on paper. She is hesitant about switching from a Rocket-Tech altogether.
Any thoughts or experiences on this one?
I hate to spend $200-300 of my hard earned money on something she won't use.
    Thanks a ton!

First of all is the bat an approved bat for the organizations that she will be participating in over the 2006 summer........That would be my first question..........2nd,I would go on the internet and ask a college coach or someone that has actually been exposed to the bat and get their opinion based on your childs capabilties and see what he or she recommends...I'm like you I wouldn't go through a door not knowing what was on the other side................Softball Guru..............:twocents:

Thanks Guru! I actually like what she is doing with the 32" Rocket-Tech, especially since they run it in on her quite a bit. She has 3 OTF Home Runs in 8 regular season games so far (It should be 6) and hit 3 OTF in shortened pre-season scrimmages and she hit one in practice last week that they estimate went about 290-300 ft. I actually want to stand pat.
Also, we didn't have school here today (snow). My dd informs me this morning that she left one of her 3 mitts at school after practice yesterday. Wouldn't you know it was the $150 Nokoma! I am sitting on pins and needles until she gets that thing back.
I ain't buying squat till this plays out.:fire:

My dad always said '' If it works don't fix it '', sounds like your DD is doing well with the Rocket-Tech , I wouldn't change a thing...........if she is feeling confident in the bat that she has it wouldn't matter if it were a broom stick handle, she will do well.............Softball Guru...:twocents:

One thing else my DD will switch from Rocket-Tech to Synergy and back..similar to a pro bowler will use different balls for the lane conditions that best suit his or her needs...........CONFIDENCE is the key for a young athletes success..............Softball Guru.....:twocents:

Yes--- I have seen too many times kids going to the plate with a negative attitude about thier hitting because of an off game...Hey even Derek Jeter has a bad game once in awhile....but CONFIDENCE is a key whether an athlete will succeed or just be another body on the field.....Softball Guru..:trophy:

    Hitting

First thing, make sure your player feels comfortable in their stance. Make sure they are balanced. Make them use the same routine everytime they get in the box, have a trigger point! Spent a great deal of time on the tees and take "quality swings" not "quanity swings"! Muscle memory does wonders toward making a player feel good at the plate. Be supportive and positive, girls need to "feel good to play good!" (Maybe the most important facet of success with girls.) Lastly, keep the head down and go from shoulder to shoulder, never looking up till swing is complete.
Just my two cents worth, not saying I am an expert at all! RET

Oh, forgot, I make my girls think the bat they have is the top one for them, confidence in the bat does wonders, Ha HA!
