    First Class Event

From the time this event was announced until the last out on Tuesday night Tripp Roakes put a tireless effort into making this a first class event. With the help of some very dedicated people (Jeff Schaefer, Jake Robbins, the staff at CBC and all of the coaches who ran the teams on the field) Tripp absolutely pulled off what he intended to, a premier showcase event of the talent in this area.

Let's forget, for a moment, the scores of the games. I agree with some of the points previously mentioned, they just don't matter IMO.

This was always intended to be a showcase event that allowed for some of the best talent in the 2 state area to play.

For the middle school kids being selected and having a chance to play on a D1 college field in front of a couple hundred fans had to be a huge deal----SUCCESS!

For the future stars and the freshman teams---two days of showcasing their talent in front of 25 or more college and pro scouts for $100 or so! Again---SUCCESS. You can't go to 1 college camp for that much.

For the 2009 kids--one last time to play with teammates, competitors and friends in a fun environment before they all leave to go in separate directions. SUCCESS!

Whether it is the battle of the border, us against you, you against us, city vs. state, upstate, downstate, midstate, any state, this event was a huge success and will continue to grow for all the right reasons.

    Way to go Tripp!

"No wonder the Tar Heels are always in Omaha while the Gamecocks are watching on TV !! " As I'm a former Gamecock...dems fightin' words.

Next year, I'm getting involved and bringing in ringers from SC and show you Tar Heels a thing or two.

    Okay...okay...I'm just kiddin'....kinda!

and for those that have spent anytime around Tripp Roakes, you know he is going to do a first class job. We're fortunate that he is involved.
