BC Scrimmages

    What teams were there? How did they look? Any scores?

    Bessemer City, North Gaston, Huss, Maiden, Highland and East Lincolnton were there. Highland has a consistant pitcher, throws strikes, NG looked better than last year (good coaching), BC starting pitcher had a "hammy" and it showed, EL struggled with pitching, very young but coached well, Huss only had four Varsity players (devastated by flu), jv played well against maiden (lost 4-1 I think), against bc, game ended behind 4-2 with bases loaded, and had no problems against NG. Maiden had some issues in the outfield but solid infield and good pitching. All teams subed constantly and everyone played. good training for both players and umpires. Don't like the new rule about being hit by a pitch, appartently you don't have to make an effort to get out of the way. Had a change up roll up and stop on the batters foot, ump gave the batter the base even though she made no attempt to move and we were told that was the rule this year????? still, all in all, a whole lot of young smiling faces this weekend:ylsuper:
