    who's on first?

what I was getting at was if wood bats were used in softball THEN you would have to move the pitchers back... if not, you wouldn't be watching a game but just the pitcher and catcher playing catch!

Fish... I compare with baseball because, well, like the saying goes "when you ain't real smart, stick with what you know!" I've been down the "baseball road" already with my oldest. Now that he's playing in college I'm stuck here at home with my lovely wife, two DD's and two female "wiener" dogs... the only other male is a gerbil... and he ain't very supportive! I muddle through the best I can...

I do believe fast pitch and baseball are comparable. But, a lot of things in softball haven't been changed since the slow pitch days, field dimensions being the biggest. In baseball (here I go again Fish!) as the boys get bigger and stronger, the field gets bigger, while in softball you're on the same size field as when you were as an 8 yr old. This may be hiericy, but I'd like to see the base paths pushed back to 70', pitcher's rubber to 50' and fences to 225' at the HS and college level. That would bring more defensive skills into play. To me, there's nothing more beautiful than a well-turned double play

    Okay, fire away!!!

P.S. speaking of the "s" word, my kids don't associate with the "foot fairies"

    .....My bad their GBuddy.
Yes baseball and softball are similar for sure.
Now for moving the bases and pitchers rubber, let think about that.
Oh I'll have an opinion that I'm sure I'll agree with!
