I know everyone has their opinion about the best pitcher that was in Raleigh, but how about those catchers?! All those extra inning games in that heat is as much a feat as it was for the pitchers.

I wasn't able to attend this year but my vote would be a close race between the catchers from West Forsyth and central cabarruss. I would have to give the edge to the WF catcher (mckenny) as I heard she threw out one of the speedy covington girls stealing 2nd. I doubt that has happened very often. Plus I think mckenny calls the pitches, not the WF coaches.

I would have to say Brittney Furr from CC was the best catcher this weekend, Only a sophmore its amazing she hadnt caught one game at the varsity level before this season, she will definately only get better catching the best pitcher in the state in GA.

    Catcher

How about Gina Loflin from West Rowan? I agree both catchers U mentioned are fine players. Gina has already gotten interest from several D-1 schools and is just a sophmore. She plays hard and has a great attitude for the game.

Brittney sorry I left U off the CC post, not done on purpose, U did a great job especially given catcher is not your primary position.

    Catchers

First of all I only comment on the catchers I know and did not know the other catchers that went to the States. I am sure Kings Mtn. has a good catcher and I bet most of the teams there had good catchers or they would not have made it so far. Please don't make this out something it is not! If U have a couple catchers that are good put them out on the wire and don't criticize someone supporting their team's catcher. These are just personal opinions and all of us have one! That is what this board is all about.
Have a great summer and keep up your love for the game and your team.

Not only is Kala B from KM a very good catcher, West Rowan & CB Aycock catchers were real good from what I saw. Did not get to see anyother games so I don't know about anyone else.

Reguardless of what you think! Every player that walked out on the field in Raleigh last weekend (positions 1-9) are the best players in NC. They would not have been there if they wasn't. All of these girls played their hearts out trying to win a championship. All of them may not have brought home a first place trophy, but in my book every young lady there is a champion. Please!!! Lets keep negative thoughts and sarcism to ourselves and post positive things about our sport.

    CometFan,

That is what I am trying to say. There are also some very good players that did not make it to Raleigh. It just seems that there are a few people that think that the only great players play for CC or WF and they are trying to push this on everyone.

Let me say this that Crest has a very good shortstop that I would put up against anyone in the state & she did not make it to Raleigh, well yes she did, she came to root for the KM girls. Thanks NAT for coming I know all the girls really appreciated it!!!!!!

What about Enka, I think they have some great talent that also did not make it to Raleigh. I am just tired of a few people that think that softball revolves around CC. Yes, they are a great team but there are others in this state!!!

Great post CanAmMan...seems like this entire site only revolves around a few teams and or players....but...its up to everyone to plug their team or player(s).

I hope the NCFPCA or ihigh can get their act together and come up with some sort of All State squad(s) and what would truly be great would be a East-West All Star game!!! Who can put this together??
