First let me congratulate all the state champions. As all were deserving. With that said all of us who know the sport know what sepearates good teams from great teams. PITICHING! I saw many teams play this year including CC and I can honestly say there were several teams out there that would have been the state champions with Gina Allen as their pitcher. Same thing with the KM pitcher. In any sport all the best players are not in the state finals especially in softball. If you don't believe this just look at the college world series this year. The University of Texas is not even in the same class withe Michigan,Cal, UCLA, Arizona and many other teams that didn't make it to the playoffs but they rode the arm of Cat Ostermon to the final four. My point is there are many girls out there that are much better at their position than the ones in Raliegh but don't play on teams with good pitchers so you never hear of them. Example this years Gatorade Player Of the year who would start for every team that was at Raliegh

In reference to the post by outlaw31, the NCFSCA has been in existence for 11 months. The All-State teams were selected by Ihigh last year. They do not plan to post an All-State team this year. I am not sure about the comment that the NCFSCA needs to get their act together and select a team. We are a growing Association. Our #1 goal in our bylaws is to be a unified voice for softball in our state when dealing with the NCHSAA. That is what will be our mission. If others do not step up to the plate, we will try to do what we can. There has been some discussions among members about coming out with a Final Top 10 list. If that goes well, we may try to do an All-State team in all classifications. Bear with us. We are the new kids on the block who are trying to be that unified voice for our sport. It seems a growing number of people think we can do it all and that is just not possible at this time. Give us a little more time. I can assure you that we are working in accordance with our mission statement

I guess this is where I come in and say thanks. I'm the catcher, excuse me I was the catcher for Aycock this year.... until I broke my thumb in the 1st round of play-offs. But did play this past weekend. I have to admit though, it's certain threads like this that can make a person get down... b/c it's hard to say who is the best since not everyone watched every person play.

BROKEN THUMB!!!!!!!!!!!!! and you still played that well..... GREAT JOB!!!!!!!!!. you are so true that not eveyone watched each play so how can someone say who was the best. Of course they are going to say the person on their team or someone they played against was great but trying to compare people they did not see is crazy.

    Down

Why does this get U down? U are obviously a good player as I said in my post. Unless someone has seen U and the other catchers all year U are right it is hard to judge. I only commented on the catchers I knew and never said any were the best. Hold your head high, play hard, enjoy the game, and U really do not need to be concerned with all these Dad's, Mom's, Coaches, etc giving their opinion on who can do this or that. Great job this year getting to the state final four! Teams do not get this far without great catchers! U are obviously one of those!!!!!!!!!!!! :ylsuper:

First a big WAY TO GO to all the teams that made it to Raleigh. Because of family obligations I was unable to make the tourney this year and I have a question about a player that I saw last year. The catcher for North Lenior, Randi Moulton (spelling?). She was very impressive with her handling of the pitches and her hitting, but I felt her arm strength and her aggresivness in throwing behind runners was her best quality. How did she play this year and will she be playing in college?
