    WNC

In Western North Carolina the two programs that standout as traditional powers are TC Roberson and East Rutherford.

The Raleigh area has produced a lot of good ones also... but I know you guys don't like Wake County. :lalala:

You can't forget Rose, they have had some of the best HS baseball traditionally for a long time.

Does Cherryville have good HS baseball? Seems like I only hear of them when it is Legion season. Not a flame, but are they usually good in HS... not only Legion?

How ironic there WNCBB that you didn't mention West Henderson being a power in wnc but if I were you I'd probally wouldn't either. Maybe you need to come down to the field and look at all the conference titles, state playoffs and championships that are hanging up.

    Cheryville high school

Coach Henry Jones has won 6 state championships at cherryville high school. It may be 7, but i think it is 6.

    Interesting comment

Since you mentioned it and wanted to question WNCBB about his comments
ER has been the power for the last 3 years over everyone with 3 straight state titles and came into W Henderson's backyard and won in 2002 I think WH had a
record of 23-0 going into that game. Bandys took WH out in 2003. Bandys traveled to ER the next week and they went down to the Cav's. It gets tough
at the top. Just a few facts from the last few years Who knows whats to come
Its baseball and thats why we go because anything can happen

I think what "O" was trying to get at was tradition which to me spans several years, 30 or so. West Henderson has been successful the last 12 or so, as has TC. But I agree with "O" in that Cherryville has a great tradition going back decades. I would love to hear about other programs with the rich tradition. Maybe not having been as successful in the last few years, but spanning 30-40 years. I am sure there are several.

Two programs from down East have exhibited a really strong tradition over the past 20-30 years.

We have already read about Whiteville, but also you can put New Hanover in that category. Think of the Great coaches from these 2 schools, mainly Linwood Hedgepeth at Whiteville and Buck Hardee, Dave Brewster and Keith Moore at New Hanover. Many, many wins there and tons of great players.
