Providence will be the team to beat, however will they underachieve like the past two years or return to the prowless of the 95' 96' teams, that is the big question, with a new coach and that large group of seniors, i think underachievement is in the back of everyones mind.

Nice poll ... you missed some very competitive teams though.

Independence is going to be dangerous. Farry/Rocket on the mound with McMahon behind the plate. Gives them a great battery in virtually every game.

Central Cabarrus won the Meca 8 last season. They are loosing a few big bats, but getting a lot of players from their JV squad who was dangerous. They should be hard to handle.

Is Ashbrook considered "Charlotte/Mecklenburg Area"? If so, they have to be considered. Dominating team. Ditto South Point. Mitch Harris can carry a team for awhile, but they have a lot more talent than that.

Depth in a team? Certainly Providence .... but also Hopewell and North Meck. These three teams will have players on the bench that could start in most other programs in the city area.

This looks to be an exciting season.

Central plays in the Meca 8 along with North Meck, Independence, Hopewell, Vance, etc, etc etc.... In fact, all of the other schools in the conference with Central are in Charlotte Mecklenburg.

i dunno, christian will be mighty good this year, they have abunch of returners and a fresh new crop of some mighty good ballplayers. pitching will be the only question mark

providence has the most talent out of everyone, but can never seem to harness it all, hopefully hignite will be able to fix that.

South will be good as well, they have worrell and shelton to lead the squad. they also have a good crop of youngsters.
