Lots of people keep mentioning that such & such a game (that has already been played up to now in playoffs) should have been for state finals in Raleigh.

What are valid suggestions for a better system for seeding the playoffs than the current method used? Knowing next year that playoffs will be expanded to include more teams.

    Double elimination tournament

Walnut Creek will support a 64 team tournament over the course of a 3 day weekend. Do a first round single with 32 teams at a home field and bring 16 teams from each division to Raleigh for a double elimination tournament. Start Friday afternoon through Sunday night.

Sounds as if you may have something here. This would be a good solution and as we know everything thing gets down to revenue and if the NCHSA could see what dollar amounts this would generate for the area that host this type of tournament that is what will motivate them.

That would be great - I think the double elimination is better. And all in one weekend would give everyone a chance to see more games and other teams play.

What about all of the differerent levels(1a, 2a, etc...)? What you described would work if there was only one level. It would have to be done 4 different weekends. I guess the tournaments could be rotated around the state, Raleigh, Charlotte, Statesville, Greensboro or something like that (as long as it wasn't played in RockHill :supergrin)

How would you seed the first round? Automatically take the top 3 from each conference? How do you rank teams from different conferences for seeding purposes? Each conference doesnt have the same level of competition. This is not easy...
