Big Weekend Matchups

Lee County plays at Southern Lee tomorrow (3-6) at 1pm.

This will be Southern Lee's 2nd of 4 straight games against quality out of conference competition. Lost to Ragsdale last night 3-2, Lee County tomorrow, followed by Eastern Randolph Tuesday and Pinecrest on Friday.

They should be well tested for the upcoming conference schedule!

 

Hopewell is at Meyers Park today. This is always a good game.

Mallard Creek comes to East Mecklenburg's Field of Dreams to play the Eagles on Saturday at 11 AM.

No offense but I have to correct you ....... "East Meck/Ed Bryant's Field of Dreams"! I will and all that knew Ed, will never forget!

 

Middle Creek at Durham Athletic Park Sat.

Green Hope vs Middle Creek game was postponed due to wet field conditions.

Middle Creek plays Southern Alamance at the Durham Athletic Park on Saturday at 11am.

 

My apologies

My bad on forgetting to include a reference to Ed Bryant. He continues to be an inspiration to Eagles everywhere. We now have a tradition every year of reading Braves' account of the Miracle Game over the PA when EM's own Angel in the Outfield helped lift the Eagles over a stacked Providence Panthers squad.

 

Thanks Lion. I hope that tradition never stops. Ed Bryant deserves it. I hope one of these days he will get the field named after him on a display that will be easily seen.

In an age where yesterday's heroes are so easily forgotten, I appreciate you keeping Ed's memory alive.

 

I happened to be at one of the games when you in fact did read the account of the Miracle Game. It was very moving and very much appreciated from those that knew Ed. FYI I was also at the Miracle game and we still talk about that game today as well! Thanks for remembering!
