Courage is FEAR, that said it's PRAYERS.
East Burke will miss that man on the sidelines! He could coach, regardless if you agreed with him or not!

Yeah, and he knew how to "hire" refs too.

Doesn't he do this to East Burke every year? Two years ago he was leaving for Alexander Central. Last year he resigned, then came back a week later.

If he sticks to it this time...wonder who they will hire? The JV coach, Chip, is a teacher's aid at the school. Would he be allowed to do it? Interesteing because they have a talent coming up for the next few years.

Bliss was a good coach. He got the most out of what he had on his team. If Chip does not have a 4 year degree and teaching cert. then i do not think they will give it to him. There will be alot of coaches put in for this job.

Rumor has it that Billy Anderson will be the next coach of EB's b-ball team. He is the Jv coach at West Caldwell,

Don't be surprised if you see Lloyd Church's name pop up in the list of candidates down there. After all, his wife works either at East Burke or for one of the schools in the area. He applied for the Hickory High vacancy a few years back and was almost hired until Hickory administration decided to promote from within.

First I have heard of that one. Billy Anderson's dad (andy) is Burke County's associate superintendent, and his father-in-law is the county schools personnel director.

Also in the rumor mill, Casey Rogers will be named Freedom's new coach when/if Joey steps down.

The East Burke job was also offered to David Rhoney of North Buncombe, a former player at EB in the 80's but he turned it down...

Good ole Burke County nepotism...Things never change.

That may happen. Tom Russ, Freedom's current Athletics Director, will be retiring at year's end. It is rumored that Joe Davis will take Russ' spot.
