    As long as there is a conference system there is no way to correct this. There will be always be weak conferences and strong. A #6 team in one conference may be alot better than a #1 in another. But you can't punish a team just because they are in a weak conference, it'll show in their early games (or game). The seeding priority & (i believe) the who each conference plays rotates every year w/ every sport.
    The bottom line is beat who they put in front of you. If you beat the next best team in the FIRST round, then the rest of the road should be easy.
    Wasn't too long ago that there was only 32 teams made states, then ALOT of winning teams didn't even make it.
    Plus to me it's always fun watching a #3 or #4 seed make a run through states (SW Guilford made a run to the final 8 a couple of years ago after finishing behind us in conference).
