The Second Annual Bruce Moore / Farm Bureau JV Rocket Challenge will be held at Rocket Park at Person High School. This is a fundraiser to support the construction of a fitness center for our students and athletes. IF you want good tournament atmosphere and good food and fun, come out and support this tournament, one of the few JV Tournaments in the State.

    Teams in the Tournament include:

    Person
    Southern Alamance
    Walter Williams
    Orange
    Cardinal Gibbons
    South Granville
    JF Webb
    Bunn

A Bracket is attached FYI with game times, etc...

What a great idea. I know of a few programs in Charlotte that would love to attend a JV tournament. Perhaps Bruce can post something in the fall to let the coaches know about this

That is if he wishes to expand the pool.

That is something we could consider... We have to fields very suitable to HS baseball in Roxboro.

POtential teams can email me, if there's enough interest for next year, we would certainly enertain this thought.

LOOKING TO EXPAND TOURNAMENT in 2007

We are thinking about expanding the tournament for next year. One possible format is having 2 8-team tournaments on separate fields, then having 1 vs 1, 2 vs 2, etc... to determine a champion for the 4th day. I would like to know if there would be serious interest in this type of tournament. I know of 7 teams that are planning to return next year, and have heard that 1 Charlotte area school may be interested. I want to see this thing grow into something big.

    What do you think???

If interested, contact me at [email protected]

I think given the time to let the JV teams raise money for a trip...there would be many schools that would likle to participate. The only other concern is that not all schools have Spring break/Easter at the same time. But if it can be worked out...the Charlotte JV's would love to go to a tournament

Our Easter Break would run Apr 6-11, which means the tournament would probably run Apr 6,7,9,10 if we went to a 4 game guarantee. If we keep it as is, it will most likely run Apr 6,7,9.

So far we have never charged an entry fee. We have just asked that each team bring a dozen game balls. Our biggest cost is umpires, and if we doubled the size, we may have to look for additional funding to offset that increased cost, which we may do through sponsors, etc...
