    and another thing....

All this arguing is pointless now. Decision has been made by the school board; it won't be reversed; player will not be named.
GET OVER IT AND MOVE ON!!

:sifone: by the way, Happy Birthday to the GURU!!

    Risk

Does anyone really think that Butler Coach's and staff would risk their season on a JV callup player that has appeared in 4 games. Come on critics - use some logic!

Prior to bashing the staff, get to know them!

Rules are rules and if you let one slide you just as well let everything slide. I feel worse for the young lady involved in this political nightmare because in the truth of it all, SHE JUST WANTS TO PLAY BALL!!!!!!

I'm going to take a quote from the baseball board that Coach27 said about this entire matter. It seems that athletics has taken the right and academics has taken a back seat. Students should not transfer for athletic reasons period.

    not

he may reply, but I don't think that coach 27 would agree with this hi-lited statement, at least that's the impression I have gotten by reading several of his previous posts on this subject. all depends on the situation, and it's up to the parents and kid, and the goals and objectives. here we go again. keep it legal folks, but the schools and teams can't be held accountable for something they have no control over.

No way a coaching staff or administration of the schools can keep up with this stuff. For everyone that is found out about there are 10 more that no one ever knows of. for my part I would like to see the rules changed to where every student is allowed 1 transfer while in high school. That way everyone could go where they wanted to and enjoy their time playing sports which will teach them as much and prepare them for life as much as anything learned in the classroom. I think it is ridiculas when you punish a whole team for the actions of 1 player.

    Why JV?

How do you know she was a JV player. Maybe she was injured and just released. Aren't the asst. coaches TB coaches and most of Butler has played for them. They should know where they live.

The athletic community is not too big to get to know your players. I think the coaches hear more then let on. Most want to turn a blind eye or blame the system. Not sure what I would do in this situation but would not want to jeopardize my teams chances as Butler could three peat.

As to parents. It is ridiculous to think you will pull the wool by everyone. People talk. Many people will turn in a player on their own team to get playing time. Sad but true....

Been in the situation where parents falsified information.....
1st address given was a trailer park lot where nobody had the 1st clue of the family name I was asking about.

2nd address given was a warehouse

Finally, when the student didn't get a uniform, the parents realized they would have to go through the proper procedures. They went to the superintendent who approved an out of district transfer. Took the burden off of the school.

    Not a JV Player

Player in question is not a JV player. In fact, the player was on the varsity team during the entire 2007 season. The only reason she only suited up for 4 games, was because she was injured.

CMS is getting the wool pulled over their eyes on this situation. The coaching staff (maybe not specifically the head coach) were well aware of where this player lived, and just turned a blind eye.

What I'm wondering is, where will this girl, since she is going to school out of her district, go to school now?? If she isn't living in the Butler district, can she still attend there and finish out the school year??
