thought the game started at 7 so it was 4-0 top 5 when i got there. i didnt know at the time but the way monroe was mowing down hitters i figured he had something going. he looked like a grown man on the mound. where is he going next year?

Just got word that Aycock beat Eastern 7-1 forcing the rubber match tomorrow... How in the world do you go from getting no hit to scoring seven the next day.... ohh yeah high school ball -unpredictable.

Both teams are still undefeated on the road in these playoffs.

I guess both teams are now used to the "away" routine soo much that they don't play well when they get back "home"...

First off, helluva finish to a up-and-down series.

Let's go ahead and get to the meat of the game.
Aycock scores three in the first off of base hits and timely baserunning. EA responds with a home run in either top 4 or 5 and aycock responds with a two-run hr to finish their scoring and extend the lead to 5-1. And now the the three hardest outs in baseball, the last 3.

Top 7, EA's first batter dribbled back to the pitcher for the 1st out. Next batter droops a single near the left field line. The next batter hits a double play ball to the short stop who throws to second for one and the 2nd baseman drops the ball as he is already looking to get latter of the two potential outs. Now first and second with one out and the tying run potentially on deck. Next hitter hits to same spot for double play and this time just get the force at second.

Two outs , 1st and 3rd, #3 batter in the lineup comes up and rips a double down the left field line plating both runners making the score 5-3. Next batter, cleanup hitter already with 1 hr tonight, rips a earhole shot by the pitcher to score another run and bring the tying run on base and the winning run to the plate. Next batter gets down 0-2 and the third pitch the runner attempts to steal second. The pitch was an 0-2 waste pitch but the catcher throws high and the runner beats the ball there, but his slide stops him a foot or two shy of the bag and he is tagged out to end the game.

Crazy stuff. Congrats to EA on a terrific run and good luck to Aycock in the final...

Wow! you are right, the hardest 3 are the last three. What a way to finish the series.
