I'm new on here and would like to say hello to everyone and thanks to Braves for making this happen. I'm a huge Mt. Pleasant fan and kept my opinions to myself over at Charlotte.com due to many of the threads I read dealing w/ Mt. Pleasant. I think it was a lot of boys just being boys, but it was embarrassing to me so I'm sorry for some of the things you guys had to read.
Now on to baseball. How are the Cabarrus County teams stacking up this year. I heard that Mount has both South Meck and Providence scheduled this year so that should be interesting. Can't wait to hear some opinions.
    Also, any preseason polls yet??

Welcome Tigers..great to have you on here:

    :applause:

I am familiar with Josh Benton, Justin Black and Coach Swanson. I'm a big fan. Can you give us a rundown of the players and teams in that conference?

Thanks Braves. I don't keep up w/ the other teams all that much to be honest w/ you. Forrest Hills and West Stanley are usually the toughest teams we'll see in the conference. However, I think Mount will be pretty tough this year. This is probably the most talented team they have ever fielded. They really didn't lose anything worth noting last year and they had a pretty good run then. So if you are familiar w/ Josh Benton, how would you compare him to the other pithers you've listed in your thread about top pitchers.

I think that West Stanly team that beat Mt. Pleasant in your conference tournament last year will probably be the best team in the conference, Tigers. Josh Benton may be the best pitcher in the conference, but he can't pitch every game. It's hard to believe you think you didn't lose "anything worth noting" from last years team.

I said West Stanly would be good. There is no doubt in my mind that Coach Lee will have those guys ready, but I've been watching Mt. Pleasant for close to 25 years now and no I don't think they lost anyone who won't be replaced by someone just as capable if not better. The Fisher kid in center was the best player lost off of this team. Hartsell had a good stick but the younger Fisher kid proved in legion last year that he can step right in for him and White is probably a better all around player than Matthews. He does make a few errors, but so did Matthews. But it will be a fun season to watch.

Wow Tigers, you thought Fisher was the best player they lost? Well, that just proves anyone can have an opinion. So who is gonna be your catcher this year? Black or Taylor? It also seems that once you get past Benton your pitching is questionable.

Josh has an incredible arm. He is a perfect right fielder. He 's aggressive with his fastball and has a knee buckling curveball. If Josh is on his game he can be almost unhittable. How would I compare him...that's hard to say. He is not like any of the pitchers I mentioned in my thread. Would I rate him as high as those I mentioned.......absolutely.

Josh is old school. Just an old country boy who likes to play baseball, hunt and fish...and not necessarily in that order.

Cather is something I'm looking forward to seeing myself. I think it is a known fact that Black is the better catcher and Taylor has the better stick. And yes I think team wise, losing Fisher will hurt the most. None of last years seniors were pitchers so the same staff will be around. The lefty Hollipeter had a pretty good year last year along w/ Jones and Odell. I'm excited to see these kids this year.
