    Wednesday @ Fieldcrest Cannon:
    N. Stanly vs. Concord: 10:00am
    Mt. Pleasant vs. NW Cabarrus: 1:00pm
    Canton Pisgah vs. W. Stanly: 4:00pm
    Piedmont vs. Concord Robinson: 7:00pm

    Thursday @ Fieldcrest Cannon:
    A.L. Brown vs. Concord/N. Stanly winner: 10:00am
    Hendersonville vs. Robinson/Piedmont winner: 1:00pm
    Central Cabarrus vs. Pisgah/W. Stanly winner: 4:00pm
    Statesville vs. NW Cabarrus/Mt. Pleasant winner: 7:00pm

    Thursday @ NW Cabarrus High:
    N. Stanly/Concord loser vs. Piedmont/Robinson loser: 10:00am
    Mt. Pleasant/NW Cabarrus loser vs. Pisgah/W. Stanly loser: 1:00pm

    Friday @ Fieldcrest Cannon:
    Semifinals: 10:00am, 1:00pm, 4:00pm & 7:00pm

    Friday @ NW Cabarrus High:
    Losers of two Thursday games: 10:00am
    Winners of two Thursday games: 1:00pm

    Saturday @ Fieldcrest Cannon:
    Championship game: 4:00pm, if necessary (depending on which teams advance, the campionship could be played Friday @ 7:00pm)

    i have here a pocket schedule i picked up opening night, and it has the 2nd annual tourney slated for tues 13-16. now i'm wondering when it really is.

    Cabarrus County Tournament....

    Yes the tournament officially begins on Wednesday April 14 with first round games; however, with all this rain being predicted into possibly Wednesday(60% chance), hopefully the sunshine will return soon and we can play some baseball...

    Looks like 12 very good teams, with some very good early matchups coming up.

    Lets here some predictions just for the fun of it.... I'll start by picking Central Cabarrus to win it all,,,, with the rest of the semifinals consisting of the Piedmont/Robinson winner, NW Cabarrus and Kannapolis. Concord/North Stanly winner could be a darkhorse. And West Stanly is a very strong 2A school, I just don't see WS getting past Central Cabarrus in the 2nd round which would be Central's first game.

    Prediction -- Chris Taylor, Mount Pleasant, strokes a walk off grand slam to win 4-3 in the Championship game...Hey, you did say prediction :D

    Braves, Chris Taylor is VERY CAPABLE of doing just THAT. He's a great player.....

    I actually think the Mt.Pleasant/Northwest Cabarrus first round game will be a great game for local fans. The only reason I think NW will beat MP is because of Blake Ketner(NW) who is probably the hottest pitcher going into this tournament. Without Ketner, NW is beatable,,,,,,,, but if NW manages to make it to the championship game with a fresh Ketner,,,, they will win the tournament. For MP and the rest of the field, it just depends on "what game" NW uses Ketner.

    West Stanly may be the sleeper. They seem to have some pitching depth and they can really hit the ball. Last check they were still undefeated.

    Braves, go back and read my last post again,,,,, I edited my last post and explained why I'm picking NW over MP.

    And yes Stumpman, West Stanly is very STRONG. I'm just not sure they can beat a fresh Central Cabarrus team. But hey, its why they play the game. THis tournament field has great matchups everywhere....

    I wouldn't take any chances..throw Ketner the 1st game...besides, he will be fresher when the season conference starts back up next week.
