A bit of shameless self-promotion here guys. WEGO-AM 1410 in Concord will again have its high school football game of the week. The broadcasts will begin an hour and half before kick-off with interviews with each Cabarrus coach and the coaches involved in that night's game. Here is the tentative schedule. We do make changes from time to time, particularly late in the season but here is what we are looking at right now:

Aug. 18 Mt. Pleasant at J.M. Robinson
Aug. 25 Concord at Northwest Cabarrus
Sept. 1 Central Cabarrus at Northwest Cabarrus or J.M. Robinson at Concord
Sept. 8 Northwest Cabarrus at J.M. Robinson
Sept. 15 Central Cabarrus at Concord
Sept. 22 Porter Ridge at Concord
Sept. 29 South Stanly at Mt. Pleasant
Oct. 13 A.L. Brown at Concord
Oct. 20 West Rowan at Northwest Cabarrus or Hopewell at J.M. Robinson
Oct. 27 West Stanly at Mt. Pleasant or Sun Valley at Concord
Nov. 3 J.M. Robinson at Central Cabarrus

We're also planning a preseason preview for the last Saturday in July, but we haven't finalized a time yet, likely 9 a.m. or there abouts.

I know it's not your department, but any word on what the TWC boys are doing?

    Depends on who you ask

The guys down in Monroe said Time Warner is not going to do football this year, but from my understanding there is still some hope that the games in Cabarrus County may still go on. It would be a big loss for our community if the games don't go on.
