    Who

Who is the leader in wins for Legion baseball in the area and in the nation? I think Bobby Dale from Cherryville is among the leaders maybe

    Good enough?

To quote Dusty Quattlebaum's dad, my high school football coach, "If if's and but's were cherry and nuts, we'd all have a merry Christmas" If Shelby was good enough to go deep and win the State Title they wouldn't have gotten beat by a 6 seed. Regardless of the reason Caldwell ended up a 6 seed, it is what it is, a 2nd round upset by a team that had to win 7 out of it's last 8 regular season games to finish at .500

if you think Post 29 is a true 6 seed then you don't know alot about Caldwell County. If Shelby had beat Caldwell, then you would have a upset. About those ifs and buts...sometimes they hold water and somtimes they don't. Caldwell is certainly the top 1 or 2 team in area IV and thats the nuts & cherrys of this discussion.:woot:

    6 seed

The fact that you took the time to type that jab at Bobby Dale shows that somebody does care...
and as far as Caldwell being a true 6 seed, 11-11 is all I need to know. Teams like Cherryville have started their legion season's every year with their best high school players playing deep into the High School state playoffs, like 1998, CHS won the state championship and finished the legion season at the Little World Series in Las Vegas. They also had a much better than .500 season. As a matter of fact they ended that year at 41-16. And in case you were wondering in 2003 when Post 100 ended their season at the Little World Series in Bartlesville, OK the record was 46-10. So you might be right, I may not have much of an idea what a true 6 seed looks like....I'm from Cherryville so I haven't seen one in person very often

    6 seed

What does it matter what seed they are. They won and congrats to all teams that won. Cherryville, Caldwell, Shelby, Burke, Gaston, and other are all good legion teams. Luigiboy, let it rest and lets play ball and cheer for our teams. Seeding doesn't matter and the past is the past so let it be the past. Good luck to all team left. GO CALDWELL

Doesn't matter to me what seed they are. I had only stated originally that Shelby and Caldwell met so early in the playoffs because Shelby had a good year and Caldwell had a mediocre, at best, regular season. That's why the regular season is played. The road you go down in July is paved with what you do in May and June.
