    You guys absolutely kill me

Where is the best baseball played? I here it is Florida or Texas. Or is it Cobb County GA. Winning programs are built by great coaches and dedicated youth coaches, that feed into that HS, who actually teach their kids to play the game and let wins happen. And for Mecklenburg and Wake counties, those kids move into our areas every year from all over the country. All of us who have taken our kids all over the place to play competitive tournaments, would have to agree that their is not much difference in the ability of the kids ALL OVER THE COUNTRY with the exception of a few very talented young men. If that talented kid lives in your school district......you have a lucky coach.

What if Ryan Walker's mom and dad had not decided to move south??? Would Orange have won a state championship. What if Ardrey Kell would not have opened until next year, where would those kids be playing?? What if Rocky Mount's Goodwin family took jobs in Raleigh and he ended up playing at Fuquay Varina (now that would be something) I guess you all know where I am going with this.

There are great coaches and programs all over this state. Bottom line to championships.......the coaches get lucky with tremendous talent in some years and then some years they are lucky to have good talent that gels together as a close knit team and excel with the coach's guidance.

Ya'll need to give this crap a rest.

    As I stated several times

its not east vs west its not conf vs conf its team vs team. There is very good baseball played from the Mountains to the coast. I was not trying to say that either side plays better baseball. My point was and still is there is no way to know and it really doesnt matter anyway.

If anyone thought differently about your posts, they are either blind or have misread their braille.

I won't respond to Coach 27's call-out, since Braves wants the conversation to end and I respect Braves.

Just to point out though, RS Central and South Point were not "outside my top 10." I simply made a list of 10 that only included teams from only THREE western conferences, and then said that my list of 10 from those three conferences didnt even include teams like St Stephens, South Point, and RS Central.

I think the best team in 3A NC HS baseball this year was Rocky Mount, from the East.

I think the West's 5th best team, would cream the East's 5th best team. And 10th vs 10th, and 15th vs 15th, all the way down. I believe the teams I listed are much stronger as a whole than the ones you listed.

To answer your other question about the number of teams from your list who I saw play, I saw Rocky Mount, DH Conley, South Granville and CB Aycock play this season.

I don't think the West is stronger than the east every single year, but in my opinion it was this year.

Lastly, for the people who said the western posters stir up most of this stuff...The eastern fans are the ones starting threads such as "How 'bout the East?" just because their best team from the east happened to be better than the best team from the west.

I'll say it once more, it's a well known fact that the Western Conference in the NBA is better than the Eastern Conference. However, Boston from the east has a legitimate chance to beat the Lakers in the finals. If Boston wins, does that mean you can make the argument that the East as a whole was better? Certainly not. Having 1 great team at the top doesn't make the whole group of teams stronger.

[PlateDad]I agree with the new rules governing east teams and west of Raleigh. But I think those rules should be changed[Platedad]
