    what's up?

Garner near the bottom of baseball standings just doesn't look right. Those guys could always play some ball.

i think the opening of new schools recently hurt garner some. they've got some arms from what i hear but their offense has struggled. The Voice should know more than I do though...

Any thoughts why Enloe / Sanderson & Cary / Panther Creek are at the bottom in their conference?

    Sanderson going young in 2010

4A Sanderson, after three straight years in the state playoffs, are on a youth movement. After last years state runnerup finish they lost 8 starters (Max Gagnon to UNCP, Kyle Wigmore to High Point and Charles Wolfe to Wingate) and the 9th starter was freshman. This year they have 5 sophmores, 5 juniors and 5 seniors on the roster. Defensive errors (lack of game experience) are hurting them this year. I look to see the Spartans to rebound next year and get back in the playoff picture.

Back in the fall there was a discussion about Green Hope having one of the top pitching staffs in the state. Who is over-acheiving in the Tri-9? Green Hope's sorta in the middle of the conference standings right now.

    Pitching

For Cary and Panther Creek, the answer is pitching, if either team had better pitching they would be much better.

    Green Hope

Yeah, the Tri-9 is going as predicted, Holly Springs was the pre-season favorite, Middle Creek, Athens Drive, Fuquay Varina all contending while Cary and Panther Creek just don't have the pitching to keep up.

But clearly the surprize of the league has been Green Hope which hasn't lived up to anybody's predictions. Green Hope doesn't even have the best pitching staff in the conference, have to give that to Holly Springs with Athens Drive a close second. Why? The defense has been bad, the offense has been bad, and the pitching has been obviously affected by having all that pressure on them. And to be very honest, but not going into details, for some reason one guy has really struggled this year.
