Baseballman, clearly you dont know leesville. Behind brown and steiny they have Cody Lyons Thomas Wilson Taylor Gentry Kyle Saxton and Chris Kobeda that can also handle the bat pretty well. Pitching and Defense may win championships, but you don't win a baseball game 0-0. Also, believe me. I am not a leesville fan by any means. I'm just speaking of what I know.

    how about the tri-8?

    apex
    cary
    lee county
    fuquay
    middle creek
    green hope
    panther creek
    athens drive

who will be the strongest out of that conference? i'd guess athens and middle creek, but no idea. panther creek will be very young again but they have a good coach and will be strong in a couple years.

JM15 you must not know anything about the tri-8 Athens will probably be in 7th place in the conference and Middle Creek just above them this conference will be between Fuquay and Lee County

    Wakefield Disrespect

Im not sure how you can come to the conclusion of predicting Wakefield finishing 6th in your "pre-season polls." They have brought 3 conference titles home in the past 4 years.

    1. Broughton I might also mention that you got crushed by Wakefield in the last game of the season to tie for second in the conference.
2.Sanderson is a mostly junior based team, as they will have there time to shine next year.
    3. Millbrook is not a sleeper, they are just bad, who do they have? Yes, travis smith is a good pitcher, but i have never witnessed mid 80's and good control.
    4. Leesville no doubt they were the best team in the cap 7 but they have lost there main senior core. this is a resonable prediciton that they will finish in the middle of the pack.
    5. Wakeforest can you base your whole team on on player. Mac cant pitch every inning and cant hit in every spot in the line up. Unless they get help from other role players they will not be a factor.
    6. Wakefield Has an extremely strong senior core. They deserve a little more respect. If they can keep their pitching consistent they will be atop the standings at the end.
    7. Enloe they are not that talented but they have a couple solid players. they can upset teams if they aren't ready to play. with a good coach.

    The REAL Predictions
    1. Wakefield
    2. Broughton, Sanderson
    4. Leesville
    5. Wakeforest
    6. Millbrook
    7. Enloe

Allow me to put in a word here. Both of these conference races will be very tight, as there are excellent players and coaches throughout both leagues. I know many of the players and coaches and I konw it will be a dogfight.

It seems like many of the posters in this forum must be players from some of these schools. Discuss the positives but don't put down any teams.

Looking forward to seeing some of these teams this year!

    baseball28....

You can take these predictions as disrespect, but when you look at Wakefield, who can pitch?....there are no shut down pitchers and outside of Jeremy Dowdy, and Brian Yeung, theres not much more offense being produced from the rest of the lineup. The real battle is between Sanderson, Millbrook, and Leesville. When you look at these teams on paper, they all can hit, play defense, and hit up and down the lineup. Sanderson is the most balanced on paper with Senior Mark Peterson and Junior Charles Wolfe leading the way both on the mound and at the plate. Kyle Wood, Kyle Wigmore, and Eric Brommer all bring tough outs to the plate and can hit anywhere in the lineup....Better watch out for that Wood kid, he can flat out rake!!!

    1. Sanderson
    2.Broughton
    3.Millbrook
    4.Leesville
    5.Wakefield
    6.Wake Forest
    7.Enloe

    Wakefield High School

Wakefield has other bats in their lineup. There four guys in there lineup that are signed to play at the next level. Jermy Dowdy signed with App. State. Brice Hursey signed with Chowan University. Brien Yeung going to Wingate University. Taylor Nelson going to Wingate University. I guess some colleges coaches think they have more bats than two.

    Cap 7 Predictions

First of all, Braves makes a good point of making sure everything on this board is positive. Second of all, I'd like to give my view of the Cap 7 and the upcoming season. I feel that Sanderson and Wakefield will be the 2 front runners this year. Sanderson returns a young team with lots of experience that will pay dividends. Wakefield returns a pretty stout lineup and a young, but very capable pitching staff. Each team has a Player of The Year candidate in Mark Peterson at Sanderson, and Jeremy Dowdy at Wakefield. Look for these 2 to leave their mark on the Cap 7 this year. As for the rest of the conference, I see Broughton finishing a close 3rd with the other 4 teams battling it out for the 4th spot. It should be a very interesting race to watch.
