Any thoughts about the CAP-8 this year? While the Tri-9 seems to have the "best" teams in the area lately, the CAP-8 has a bunch of really solid squads... anyone care to wade in?

    CAP 8

Tough to call this one this year. Will be interested to see how Heritage does this year with it's first senior class. As usual, Leesville , Wakefield, and Millbrook will be solid. Sanderson returns most of it's starters and will be strong. Broughton will be much improved as it only lost 2 seniors from last season. Wake Forest Roseville lost several key players and rumor is that Enloe has gotten 2 solid arms that transfered in.

    1) Leesville
    2) Sanderson
    3) Heritage
    4) Wakefiled
    5) MIllbrook
    6) Broughton
    7) Wake Forest Roseville
    8) Enloe

My feeling is that any of the top six could win the conference. I feel as though this confernece will be tough from top t bottom.

Based on pitching I will say:

    Sanderson
    Millbrook
    Leesville
    Broughton
    Heritage
    Wakefield
    WF-Rolesville
    Enloe

It should be a very competitive year in the Cap 8.

    Missed the Boat!!

Everyone but you missed the boat on Wakefield. they fell to 2-7 in conference play with Thursday's loss to Millbrook. Still a dog fight with the top 4 as Leesville, Broughton, and Sanderson are within 1 game and Millbrook sitting only 2 out. Should make for a great second half on the year

Broughton, Leesville and Sanderson is the class of the Cap 8 this year. Pitching has been the difference maker this year. Heritage got handled pretty good by Sanderson on Friday, but do not relax on them as they have lost a couple of tough close games this year. Wakefield will surprise a team yet this year and win a couple more games this year. They have too much talent and really do not reflect there record.

This will come down to Heritage, Millbrook and Wakefield for 4, 5 and 6 in the cap 8.

BJ Nobles taking the hump every other day will keep Millbrook in the top 4. They just don't supply much run support. Broughton has the best two starting pitchers so they will stay in the top two. Leesville is hitting the ball really well right now top to bottom. They will need the run support now that their number 1 pitcher is out with an injury. Several guys have stepped up and performed well on the mound recently with the absence of Mims. Sanderson has a good one, two punch as well and hits the ball better than Millbrook. LR, Broughton and Sanderson will finish in the top three and Millbrook is alone in the next tier. I think Heritage beats out Wakefield for the fiifth spot. Losing 12 seniors this year at Wakefield has proven to be too much to replace. Should be an exciting finish in the CAP 8 this year.

I went and watched the Leesville and Wakefield game last night and it was a very good game. The pitching was very good and Wakefield pulls one out in the bottom of the 7th.

    Sanderson Millbrook

Pitching could not have been better than the Sanderson Millbrook game. BJ Nobles went 8 for Millbrook allowing 2 hits and Tyler Hardee went 9+ for Sanderson allowing 5 hits before giving way to Daniel Dulaney in the 10th. Sanderson won on a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 10th 1-0.

Broughton, Sanderson, and Leesville within 1/2 game of each other for first. Sanderson plays Broughton today and Leesville Friday.

Things are getting tight in the cap 8! 1-4 is wide open and anybody could come out on top. Sanderson is playing really well and I believe when the dust settles they will get the one seed. Sanderson, Leesville and Broughton all have two loses and Millbrook has three. The final playoff spot will come down to the final heritage and wakefield matchup. Fasten your seat belts.

    Sanderson beat Broughton tonight 7-0.
