Why can't the tournament directors, umpires, coaches, or someone with authority remove the 40ft. pitching rubber from the fields if they are going to utilize the 43ft. distance? Its not just this weekend but it happens at other tournaments too. It s easy to stride over it but the drag foot causes the issue. I just see it as a safety issue and headache for the girls.

Maybe its not a 40ft. fastpitch rubber but regardless of the distance or purpose its in the way.

its been this way for years, prior to this it was the 35' rubber causing problems for the girls throwing from 40'. it is a safety issue period, but because it is buried about a foot down, most will not expend the effort to remove it and then replace it. i do feel that if enough parents and coaches complain, this will start to happen as it did with the 35' rubbers being removed in the past.

    Tie games

Allowing games to end in a tie is disgusting and degrading to the sport of softball except in rare situations.

The games I watched this weekend made me long for the old days!

    Also...

Adding Queens, Brevard, NC A&T, Both UNC's (not sure which one Abbey had), Anderson, Presbyterian. Sure there were more I cannot remember right now.

We are playing in the Thundercat showcase in Simponsiville, SC next weekend and it seems that will have a decent draw as well. I have confirmations in my email from several SC schools including Furman, Lander to name a couple...
