Did anyone happen to see a louisville slugger black bag that looks like a mini bucket with whiffle balls in it? Last time we saw it was Friday night? If anyone saw it or accidently picked it up, please pm me so we can get it back. Thanks

Everyone should just pitch from 43 feel and make it all easier and safer for the pitchers.

I don't want to start anything negative or be a complainer, but removing the DP/Flex in favor of EP's would make everything a lot better!

ASA rules are the closest that mirror NCAA regs. Good for the teams to play within those ideals. I had an in depth discussion with some other college coaches about the DP/Flex rule & all agree if coaches use it correctly, it truly gives a lot more options to your line-up. You do not have to burn a sub on defense, still can get 10 in to hit in one game without having to actually wait on 10, get an extra pitcher in, 10 kids in to play defense, etc. All the while you have not burned a kid as a sub in once and out once. The other kids can be used situationally or simply to get their earned innings in. When a player only gets one or two AB's a game, how can they get into a grove? You start batting 10-11 or 12 in a game and you pull those AB's away from the other players thinking you are being fair, when really you may be better off allowing those EP's to simply play the next game.

I understand all of this, but the Flex pays the same amount for gas and hotels, so I think in the showcase situation, the EP's are better. JMHO, I understand the strategy, but the Flex is never happy as far as I can tell.

I know, I know, its 12:30 and fishman is...

    ....on the board.

    My observation?........

The Cardinal classic this year was awesome. We had a ball at Walnut Creek, we had great games for our team. I beleive that most if not all of our games were won or lost by 1 run. Thats cool. I did not get a chance to go over to worthdale or NCSU, but I did spend alot of time at Peace College. This place was rocking. The field was in great shape, we cooked alot, gave away way more food than was charged for, music between games, and don't forget the "cornhole/beanbag toss game.

I'd say A+ is my observation of the Cardinal Classic 2008.

    Fishdaddy.
