Carleigh Nester Commits to Elon!!!

    Congratulations to one of the sweetest young ladies to ever come through my program, (not to mention a dang good ball player!)
    Carleigh Nester, 2010 grad of the Carolina Cardinals has verballed to attend and play ball at Elon.
    Carleigh called me tonight and informed me of her decision.
    We are so proud! Also, congrats to Coach Raduenz and her staff on a job well done to land this young lady. She is an impact player who will perform very well at the next level. They are getting a good one.

    Way To Go Carleigh!!!!

    I have had the opportunity to coach Carleigh a few times over the years. During those opportunities there were many plays she made in the outfield that just made you say WOW! However there was one play she made as 12 or 13 year old playing for us in a 16U tournament that I will never forget.

    We were on defense and up by one with two out in the last inning of the championship game. The other team had a runner on 2nd and a bomb was hit to deep center that looked like for sure a walk off home run. I look up and Carleigh is running full speed towards the fence. At the last second, she jumps and reaches over the fence and catches the ball and brings it back over for the 3rd out. That play looked just like something you would see on espn. I have seen some outsanding plays over the years, but that has got to be one of the best! Oh, did I say Carleigh also has power at the plate?

    She is definately one of the best in NC. Congrats and good luck at Elon and take it easy on those Heels when you play them!
