With July 1 past, a good number of D1 college coaches are beginning to focus more on 2012 recruits. With that, coaches are wanting to see the better players (arguably the most recruitable) to receive more playing time in the field and more at bats during the games. Playing ASA rules, this gives college coaches more opportunities to see the better players in the game more often.

Sorry, but I'm going to have to 100% respectfully disagree with this. Each member of a team has to pay the same amount to attend, so each should get an opportunity to play. Nobody is happy being a flex. Yes, if it's elimination, you can somewhat justify it, but not in showcase. Then, you have subs who are pitchers, and they have to pinch run. Not a good formula. Probably batting 10, free defense, and last outs for pitcher and catcher works the best IMHO. Sometimes we bat 11 when allowed, but that may be too many.

Sorry you disagree. However this is what has been requested by college coaches. Playing time is up to the coaches of each team, not the tournament director.

You do not have to run for pitchers or catchers regardless of what position the sub plays.

Seriously folks these people provide the young ladies a great opportunity to compete in one the biggest draws on the east coast this summer. We all know some of the fields are not what we would hope for, but the folks that run this event put alot of hard dedicated work into making this thing happen every summer. In case you are wondering I have no ties, nor have ever had any ties with the organization running the event. Sit back and enjoy some good competition this weekend.

I don't like to see ANY sporting event brought down to the level of just playing with out the objective being winning it all. that is what sports are about, no game ends in a tie, no one just playing to be seen ect. If that is what the goal is just play soccer, half their games end tied with no winner. Not much of a sport there. If you don't have a winner in the games and a champion at the end you didn't have a tournament
