    Crappy Softballs

100 teams in Raleigh this weekend and they bought mushy softballs. Everyone is complaining. We have to explain to the college coaches that these are not official softballs and they won't go very far. I was told if you complain that you may get scheduled to play til 3 in morning. lol

....hhhmmmm, well the fishpappy is figuring that your DD is not a pitcher, lol!

Why would you say anything to the college coaches about the ball being why a kid did not hit well? Think about it!

Agree w/ the fishman once again..

I remeber a year or so ago we ran into the same problem at the Pride showcase tourney in Burlington. EVERYONE complained.

Kama said she ordered the same balls she always did, they just came in mushy,
Then she said, "and why does it matter? All the kids hit the same ball and the object is only to hit it where they ain't"

    and the rains came..............

Other then that, it was great. Saw many college coaches, gate fees reasonable and everyone seemed to be having a nice time.

I think they should have each team play at least one game at UNC or NCSU.
Why not new balsl? The balls they are using have no writing on them and the Cardinal girls noted they were old?
I feel for all the teams, and the cost of the entry for 50 teams should have covered new balls. Just a opinion.:cheesy:

    Wilson and Decker balls

I unloaded about 30 doz. new Wilson and Decker balls out of the trailer, the same we've been hitting for years. Had one of my kids hit one about 250' today. May have been soft due to the heat, who knows. I did hear a complaint or two. It's like anything else, you may get a bad one some times.
I wish the rain would go away. Been fighting that for games the last two weekends.

look at the bright side CC2! Nobody will be complaining about dusty fields!

I learned a little more about the Walnut Creek situation... without going into details, there has got to be a town, or city, in NC that recognizes the economic benefit to hosting quality tournaments. I'd love to know the average dollars brought into an area by one of these weekends.
