Carolina Cardinals-Red 14U Tryouts Scheduled!

Open tryouts for the Carolina Cardinals-Red 14U team based in the Triad are scheduled for Sunday Nov. 19 from 2-4 PM. Registration will begin at 1:30. Pitchers and catchers will be evaluated beginning at 4 PM.
Tryouts will be held at the Wilson Park softball field located in Clemmons, NC. This new complex is next to Southwest Forsyth Little League fields in Clemmons.

Directions- From I-40 East exit 184 turn left on Lewisville-Clemmons Rd. back across I-40, from I-40 West, turn right on Lewisville-Clemmons Rd.

Go approx. 1 mile and cross Hwy 158. (becomes Middlebrook Dr.) continue 1.6 miles and turn right on Idols Rd. Go 0.2 miles and turn left on Dillon Industrial Dr.(Southwest Forsyth LL) Look for signs to Wilson Park Complex

Recent tryouts for the Cardinals-black 14U team based near Charlotte were a great success with close to 30 trying out. Don't miss this chance to be part of one of the most successful travel ball organizations in NC.

Bmac- Will the Cardinal-red team play only ASA tournaments?

 

The Cardinal 18U teams will play ASA only. I'm sure the 16U, 14U's, and 12's will play ASA as much as possible, but they will play elsewhere depending on the tournament and competition.

The difference between the Cardinals and some other teams is that the Cardinal teams will not be "trophy hunting". If some trophies are won then great, but our goal is to have our teams to consisitently play the best competition possible. We feel this will prepare our players best for the future, not a 6 inch trophy that ends up stuck in a closet somewhere won in a tournament that didn't challenge our players.

The Cardinals want to play in tournaments where the best competition is found. For the older teams, that is ASA. However with the schedule of ASA tournaments planned for 2007, the younger age groups in ASA will offer good competition as teams from out of state look to play ASA.
