Don't understand the $50 fee to get evaluated. I think a lot of the Cubs organization but do all organizations really charge for tryouts/evaluations? Where does the money go?

Many do...I believe it helps to offset the Stadium rental fee and to help pay for the coaches participating.

First time I heard of this was with the East Cobb organization. They were charging $135 for tryouts...TRYOUTS!?!? I think for the players that made a team, it was deducted from their team cost.

Braves- You are correct. We are charged a fee to use the stadium as well as there are other fees that we must take into consideration. We hate to do this but with the economy the way it is, everyone has driven up the prices big time.

Here is a quick example. One NC county was charging $150 a day to use there facilities before the bad economy hit. Now that same county is charging $100 an hour plus clean up and set up fees. It adds up.

We do try to offset costs for those who are chosen for our teams BUT will say we are one of the cheapest in the price for our evaluations.
