    Forget the first game, tonight's game was a great display of two good teams with different makeups. Rocky Mount is the far superior team in both team speed and team defense.

    Hitting wise, Cary is the power HR hitting team, while Rocky Mount is the hard hit ground ball - line drive team who have great discipline at the plate (i.e. can go the opposite field, etc.).

    I actually think Cary has the edge in pitching - I say that despite TJ Taylor's first game shutout Cary and he hasn't even been one of Rocky Mount's pitchers this summer.

    But Rocky Mount's superior defense negates any edge Cary may or may not have in pitching.

    Game 2 came to 9th inning tied, Rocky Mount got a 2-out infield chopper to get through because of the speed of the batter. Then a double to Right Center scored the runner all the way from first. That team speed won tonight's game.

    Cary is in deep trouble. They have two things going against them... That RM line-up and the weather. When must this series be completed by?

    Cary is in trouble!

    Anything can happen in a 5-game series, but I agree, Cary is in big trouble. They've got to win twice at Northern Nash High School in the final 3 games, which will not be easy. Nash has tremendous support over there. Rocky Mount's regular pitchers (Denton, Cockrell, & Pierce) haven't even thrown in this series yet! I agree with edp102 that Rocky Mount is real disciplined at the plate (Cary pitchers issued 9 walks in game 1) & does backside hit exceptionally well when needed. They move runners in scoring position quickly & are constantly appying pressure to the other team. Rocky Mount rarely hurts themselves on defense & doesn't have a weak spot in their batting order. Not impossible to come back, but it is a tough assignment.
