    Catawba College has received two verbal commitments from Glenn High School in Kernersville, NC

    Corey Parker (SS) and Stewart Wright (3B) both quality young men and great baseball players. I wish them the best of luck down the road and in their college careers

    Nice work guys.

    I understand these boys also played some showcase (that's what a showcase website says). Kernersville is Legion country. Did these boys also play Legion?

    Yes both played for Kernersville Legion this summer and I'm assumming got looks while playing against Rowan County and Coach Gantt in the playoffs

    I love it for the guys and their families, but Catawba?....oh lordy, that's all they need is more studs.:doh:

    Joking around with subtance....

    ....is cool and how I try to approach TBR. Braves post here was poking fun, and I have know idea who the kids are or the Catawba team. BUT, now that I've read Braves post, I'll follow the Catawba team and these guys as my own.

    Catawba's rich history in baseball is amazin'! Every year they are a powerhouse. They also are in a conference that includes my favorite college team, Lenoir-Rhyne...hence, my comments.

    But, in no way am I trying to detract from what is, obviously, a thrilling day for the players and their families.

    Uh Marlin, 2 things:

    #1 Me-thinks you are new to TBR. Braves (like the rest of us) has tremendous respect for Catawba...so he firmly had his tongue-in-cheek.

    #2 Don't EVER tell anyone I defended Braves. My reputation is already in the toilet...:sifone:
