CBC Baseball and On Deck Academy Launch New Brand

Charlotte, NC November 16, 2011 – Sports Development Academies, LLC formally known as CBC and On Deck today announced that they will be doing business under a brand new, unified brand that speaks to both the history and the mission of the company while providing a foundation for future development and growth, Champions Baseball Academy.

Champions Baseball Academy will continue to provide the best in class baseball skills development programs in the Southeast as well as both elite level showcase and developmental teams. Partner and Director of Player Development Jason Hill stated, “The name Champions speaks very succinctly to our mission as a company. Our goal has been and always will be to enhance the character development of young athletes using the teachings that the game of baseball offers, while providing them with the opportunity to become premier or elite players of the game. We are building champions on the field, but more importantly we are helping to build champions in life.”

Also being announced today is the next chapter in the long history of our nationally ranked and recognized showcase and developmental teams. “Through-out the merger our team business has evolved as well,” said Jeff Schaefer, Co-Founder and Partner, “It became very clear to us during our first year as a combined entity that we needed to create a team brand that not only spoke to our goals for the program, but also provided opportunity for growth and expansion. We are really excited to announce that beginning in the 2012 season we will be competing with our showcase program under the name East Coast Prospects and our development teams as the East Coast Swingmen.”

Formally the CBC O’s, the East Coast Prospects program has helped over 200 players reach their dream of playing college or professional baseball.

Champions Baseball Academy’s location in Pineville will continue to provide over 3000 lessons, camps, clinics and classes while also serving as the home of the East Coast Prospects and the East Coast Swingmen, in addition to being the training home of the SCBL Champion Pineville Pioneers, the Union County Vipers, the Coul Oak Athletic Association and many more.

We have fully refurbished and remodeled the Pineville facility in addition to adding on 7500 square feet. We now have 22,000 feet of indoor training space as well as the outdoor field. Between the two we have more training space than the Charlotte building. We will also be sharing a huge announcement on an addition to the facility within the next two weeks.

We have closed the Charlotte facility as of the end of the lease.
