I went down to CBC this past weekend to watch the showcase work out and it was very impressive. It was great watching the kids work hard and to see them enjoying and soaking up all the knowledge that the coaches were given. The amount and different array of college and pro coaches there was great. If i didn't think that Schaeffer, Robbins and the rest of the CBC crew would get the BIG HEAD i would say that they know what they are doing. Seriously, those guys do a wonderful job for the kids. Keep up the great work guys.

A huge turn out. This is one of the best opportunities for kids to get tremendous instruction from some of the best coaches around. 3 hours of great hitting, fielding, pitching and general instruction from some of the best around.

Others in attendance: UNCC, Elon, Central MO College, Western Carolina, Freddy Suggs, NY Mets

Outstanding Job by all. Thanks to Jeff, Jake and Mike Schildt for putting on a tremendous camp.

What Schaef. has created is a very indepth interaction between prospective future college players, college coaches, and pro scouts. This past Saturday was a day full of interaction between current college coaches, pro scouts, and an invited group of very good high school baseball players. Every player there got numerous looks by multiple coaches and scouts. I believe all of the NCAA classifications were represented. Jeff, Jake, Mike and the rest of the CBC crew were all in attendance and have created the best one day event of its kind that exists in the area.

I can't tell you how upset I am in missing this. There have been very few events like this in Charlotte and to miss it....well, at least I can say I gave it the old college try.

A Mr Davis, it would seem, decided he did not want me to attend by running a red light to get to a going out of business sale at Circuit City. I am now in need of a new car:smart:

    CBC Skills Camp

    Rockers,
I want to thank everyone who has posted on TBR regarding The CBC Skills Camp. This was a tremendous day for the kids and the schools who worked the camp. The opportunity for these kids to get around and work with some of the best college coaches in the country is what this event is about. This was not designed just for the kids who come through CBC or play in the CBC Cougars organization. It was put together to bring attention to all the talented kids in our area regardless of who or what organization they play with. Our part of the country is loaded with top colligate baseball programs and the greater Charlotte area is loaded with talented high school players. It only made sense to bring both palyers and college coaches together.

I am very proud to work with some of my closest friends, Mike Shildt and Jake Robbins. Jake and Mike not only know the game but more importantly they love to teach it. They both played a major part in the camps success.

It was great to have Freddy Suggs and Gary Randall from the MLB Scouting Bureau, Marlin McPhail (NY Mets), Jay Matthews (Rockies) and Mike "Iron Mike" Juhl (Cardinals) in the house.

I recieved three different emails today from coaches that worked the camp and each one spoke the same sentiment...they have never attended a camp or showcase where there were so many talented players. That is a credit to all the programs in our area.

Again, I want to say thank you (This Board ROCKERS) for the positive posts and also to let everyone know how grateful we (CBC) are for all the support we recieve when we put on our classes, clinics, and camps. We want to continue to harvest the talent in this area and present opportunity for those kids who want to play at the next level.

See all of you at the Hot Stove Dinner this Saturday!

    Sincerely,
