    True to our mission of player development, CBC is proud to announce that John Steele will be joining our staff as Director of Pitching Development. John will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of pitching at Carolinas Baseball Center, including the coordination and implementation of detailed pitching programs for all who train at CBC.

    John’s Career Highlights
     · Bullpen Catcher/Batting Practice Pitcher for Texas Rangers
     · Camp Instructor for Texas Rangers
    · Assistant Coach and Head Recruiter for Texas Wesleyan
     · Coach in the Texas Collegiate Summer League
     · Over 10 years of experience coaching (Professional and Collegiate Levels)
     · Finished collegiate playing career at St. Mary’s University
     · Set records for saves and total games pitched in a season, .193 opponents batting average
    John joins a top level, highly experienced instructional staff in the area. Other CBC baseball instructors include:

     Jeff Schaefer – Played professionally 14 years, 5 at the MLB level
     Gookie Dawkins- Made MLB Debut with Reds, won a gold medal with Team USA
     Terry Brewer – 14 years MLB Scout Baltimore Orioles, Currently MLB Scout Tampa Bay Rays
     Eric Tokunaga – 5 years scout Kansas City Royals, 4 years scout in Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks
     DJ Ferguson – Drafted by Boston Red Sox, played professionally 4 seasons
    Tyler Lumsden- Played collegiately at Clemson University, 34th overall pick by White Sox in '04, currently in San Diego Padres organization
     Kyle Shelton – Played collegiately at UNC Chapel Hill, currently in White Sox system
     Kyle Bloom – Played 7 years in Tigers and Pirates organization, was on 40-man roster Pittsburgh Pirates
     Mike Hennessey – 22 years as a High School coach, currently head coach Charlotte Country Day
     Patrick Whitted – Played collegiately at Bishop State C.C. and Alabama State (Div. 1)
     Tyler Anderson – Played collegiately at Seton Hill University
