Champion Festival video

    The Champions Festival(http://championsfestival.com/index.php) was streamed live today online. A little long but worth the watch. Some recruiting info about D1 schools that seemed useful to me even though my daughter is still many years away!
    There were other great talks by past Olympians including Finch and others. Again, fun to watch but a little long.

    Highlights for the recruiting speech:

    -D1 has 12 scholarships to give for softball
    -4 periods in a recruiting calendar
    -Dead period no recruiting-Can watch but cant talk
    -7 recruiting visits per student-only 3 can be contacts
    -Sept 1 of the junior year of HS-can get questionnaire or camp brochure-these show interests
    -July 1 Jr year you can get phone calls
    -Official visit Sept 1 SR year
    -Dates may change in upcoming years
    -Verbal can be at anytime-non binding
    -National Letter of intent binds student to college and vice versa
    -Coach has to honor this once you start classes, not when the season starts
    *These rules could be different for D2 and below*
