Seniors have played their final games... Juniors and other underclassmen are looking toward being leaders next season. Even got word that a coach has resigned.... Big changes all.....

Looks like McDowell and AC Reynolds have strong nucleus coming back... Freedom will be athletic and strong again... South will always be in the mix... How do you all feel about next season? Who will step up and make their teams better? Is next year the year that McDowell will win it all again? or can AC Reynolds knock off the defending champs? Should be another exciting year...

Heard the other day that the coach from Watauga resigned. Anyone heard why? I know they did not have a great deal of talent or size. Kept reading in newspapers that they had a difficult time finding an AD. What's going on?

Can't wait till November when they lace them up again.

Good luck to all the young ladies as they move on to other sports and careers. You are all CHAMPIONS!!!!!

I cant wait myself to the season begins.I believe there is atleast 4 teams that have a shot at winning the conference nxt year (mcdowell, freedom,ac reynolds and south caldwell).

Freedom has 5 players back who started several games last year including 3-year starters Leah Barrier and Tara Tate.I see them really becoming big time players this and leaders. Also returning is Whitney Cline who has great potential along with rising sophmore Kristen Kidd.Theres a few jvs coming up who can make a big impact.Coach Loftin did one heck of a job this year and I think he can next year as well in the future. He took a team that everyone counted out last year and won 20 games. If these players returning will work will hard and make a commitment to each other and the team theres, this could be a very special year for the Lady Patriots.Plus the jv Program is gonna be real strong with good talent staying and coming into the program and Amber Fox knows how to get the players to play hard and that will make things better when these girls get on the varsity, this is the first time in a while the jv girls have been well-coached on the jv level.Amber has great knowledge of the game and the rest of Coach Loftins staff knows how to motivate the players and work with them.Remember at Freedom "WE DONT REBULD WE RELOAD".

I know mcdowell like us,will always be in the mix.Coach silver knows how to bring out the best in his players.South Caldwell i think has Haley Barrett back and should be tought as long with ac reynolds.

Im not sure about the rest of the nw4a.

Too much pressure on the coach from the parents at Watauga. Coach did an excellent job with what he had. He puts a lot of pressure on himself to get the girls to do well, but parents were too unfair with expectations for the team. No post players and not enough talent to be successful in the NW4A. Parents can gripe all they want, but nobody would've won more games with the talent they had. It's a shame they pushed a talented coach out. You won't find many coaches that cared for his players like Coach Moretz did.

I look for it to once again be Mcdowell and Fredom at the top. AC Reynolds could slip past one of these two. Don't look for SC to be real good with no size and Barret has to have more knee surgery and will miss all of next year.

Its sad to hear that about barrett. How many knee surgeries has she had ov er the past 3 years. No telling how good south may have had she got to play.It shows how fortounite we were that Tara was able to play agian after she had knee porblems.
