HAHAHA but you handled it the way its supposed to be handled, by hoisting a big trophy.

reminds me of a great story....

playing 12U LL all stars over 4th of July weekend at our home field... a little rag-a-muffin rec complex. We had just a basic T shirt for our all star jersey. The other team came up all decked out in expensive jerseys and had 4th of July goody bags.

Kortney Wagoner was our pitcher. The other team started their chant: watch the pitcher, watch watch the pitcher is she fast is she slow....

Well many of you know Wagoner; she toes the rubber and brings her first warm up pitch.. . whoomp... the chant stopped in mid sentence; nothing but dead silence.

Not a peep the rest of the game. We won 11-0.

that is funny. I have a visual of Brian on the bucket laughing, calling pitches and talking to everyone that stops by the dugout.

    Not always true

It seems that some teams are amazingly 'scoreboard resistant'. I've never been able to decide if this is a good or bad thing.

Florida State has one of the best chants from the kids in the dugout.
I guess that answers the question.

I don't hear it that much anymore in 16u except for when we play younger teams. The "chanting" doesn't really distract my team, it just makes us want to win even more. We played a team this weekend that chanted constantly and even sang songs before the game with thier fans. Everytime we would bring the ball into the circle, one of us would say, "let's shut them up." In my opinion chanting is childish and doesn't give much of an advantage. When I'm up to bat I'd rather hear my teammates yell such things as "here ya go 15!" or "come on now, you got this" than I would cheerleading.

Our team quit chanting in 10u. (The girl's just stopped, no one MADE them.) We have noticed that sometimes the girls are more focused on the chanting than the game. There were a couple of girls that were upset that the other girls wouldn't chant anymore. But, they were also the one's who acted like they could care less if we won or lost. "We lost??? Oh well....where we eatin??" :58:
