    up and in,
completely agree with you on Rob Davis. His Dad, Bruce, was my boss for 4 years, and I helped Rob out many times on the field as a favor. He is the best all round kid I have ever met. He is a great athlete and smart as hell, and very respectful, and is immensely competitive. There is no telling what that kid will do in life. Would not surprise me if he takes that West Point education and is the president one day. awesome Rob Davis Army Link

Matt Hood (Butler), Matt Young (Vance), and Jordan Case (Latin) just finished their careers at Davidson.

Other area players at Davidson include Jay Heafner (West Lincoln), Eli Benefield (Huss), Brett Peiffer (East Rowan), and Ronnie Shore (S. Rowan).

Rob Wilson (Myers Park) joins the 'Cats this fall.

Just went to the Davidson stats for the year and saw that Jay Heafner only hit .234 for the season. Hard to believe it was that low after watching him play Legion ball this summer. Expect lots of
improvement from Jay up in Wildcat country.

Jay had a slow start. He hit better as the season progressed.

High school players need to understand that it is a HUGE leap from high school ball to Division 1 college baseball.

High School players need to understand, it can be a huge jump even going to DIII. Matt Wiley (WC, 2002) struggled at LR the first part of the season. Graig Gesslein (Independence, 2002) also struggle at LR the first part of the season. The only two freshmen I can think of who never seemed to miss a lick are Matt Camp (NC State, from Southpoint) and Mike Daniels (UNC, from South Meck).

Zack Ward from Kannapolis had an outstanding freshmen year at Gardner Webb.

Chad Tracy(West Meck/ECU) is in AAA and I believe made the All Star game and probably will get a call up in Sept.

Does anyone know what other Charlotte HS players are in the Major or AAA? I know Ray Durham is in the major and his brother Chad is/was in the minors.

Actually, that would be the Kenosha (WI) Mammoths out of the Frontier League. You can keep up with the stats thru baseball america . I have a friend playing on this team and just saw Spencer on there today. Only played 2 games so far.
