I've had the pleasure of watching the Christian team play every game this season. It is my opinion that early in the season when the scouts would arrive, their presence would definitely impact the team. It was an oddity and a distraction. Seeing 15 radar guns right behind homeplate all rise in unison upon the delivery of the first warm up pitch and every pitch that follows affects both teams, and fans. The Christian offense sputtered early in the season when Daniel took the mound. Wins of 1-0, 3-2, cited as examples--some of it may be due to facing the other teams #1 pitcher-but I'm not sure if that was actually the case- At this point in the season the scouts have become familiar to both players and fans and receive less notice and comment. Daniel seems much more comfortable with their presence and post game there's hardly a reference by any of the players that the scouts were in attendance. I believe the spectacle of seeing the scouts may be more of an issue for Christians opponents during this phase of the season, because for most, it may be the only game or time, they will witness the dance of the radar guns in preparation for 94 mph. Its really something to see, especially in the 7th inning.

Deacon 32....Thanks.....Great perspective.......It WAS the first time I'd ever seen the "dance of the radar guns" (love that phrase!) and it was very cool! Very well articulated and expressed, your post helped me be more "in touch" with HOW the players/ team "felt".

As Yogi Berra said....."Baseball is 90% mental -- the other half is physical."

THAT is why I was interested in what the thought process and feelings were of Bard and his team mates as it related to scouts and the "dance of the radar guns" (did I mention I love that phrase? It's a baseball ballet....dance of the radar guns :))

(Shaking head)..only Original would catch that phrase...:D

Yes, that's true, but I'll let you in on a little secret...Guess who is the Lord of the Dance....our own Prepster...he can shag with the best of them...but is too modest to admit this on a Statewide Message Board read by as many as 6500 people in any given week

I probably need to apologize to you as well just in case my following post may have offended you or seemed to abrupt:

Original posted: "Just wondering ......how does that affect Bard specifically and the other team members / opponents in general?"

SabreFan posted: "You will get a lot of posters that can and will give their opinion to your above question but, I think that it can ONLY truly be answered by a player himself and I don't think that there are probably a lot of players that post here but then again, maybe the majority of the posters can speak for their players?!?"

SabreFan's latest post: Just off the top of my head, which seems to get me in trouble sometimes, I just say/type/report what pops first in to my head. In fact, I think that your post is so good that you should think about starting a new thread so that the knowledgeable players/coaches, etc. can really share their thoughts with us!

Well, I thought that picture of Braves and Mrs. Braves was appropriate for the BACK of the shirts
